Coto Language Academy

Founded in 2000 by a group of volunteer Japanese language teachers with a mission to help international residents in Japan, Coto Academy aims to teach "real" Japanese that students wouldn't learn from studying a textbook. With a huge emphasis on practical conversational skills, Coto ensures that each student gets as many speaking practice opportunities as possible. To help their students gain new Japanese abilities for leading barrier-free lives in Japan, Coto published its first Japanese learning textbook Nihongo Fun and Easy in 2009.

Inside the classroom, Coto keeps small class sizes with a maximum of 8 people, which allows for relational learning and personalized attention for students. Outside the classroom, Coto’s flexible scheduling allows students to study on any schedule. Free course consultation and level check is also provided to ensure students a lesson plan that matches their needs. Coto’s multiple locations(Tokyo&Yokohama) and online lessons also allow students to keep studying even if they move.
